Human Shed Skin News #1

INHUMAN chapter 30 a bonus are complete!

‘Lo, ev’ryone! Happy April Camp NaNo!

It’s been some time, but as you can see, I have moved to a different newsletter service. Substack is simpler and customizable in better ways all at once in comparison to MailChimp, but that’s not what matters at the moment…

What does matter is that the 30th chapter of Inhuman is complete and online! 😃 There is also a bonus 31st chapter which is an interview between Celezar and Jean which was initially posted on Tapas.io! 😁 (Links below)

With this, Inhuman, book one of Human Shed Skin, is complete! At least for now.

Yes, there will be a far more polished version of the story in the future, but that one will be uploaded to my Patreon. Somewhat unfortunate but necessary, too.

What comes next

Next, in the HuShS series, is book two! It is in the works as of November 2022 and I hope to have it finished by late summer of this year. Hope is the operative word here, unfortunately. I’ve not had much success with it in the past five months and am horribly stuck on chapter 15… 😞

Another story that is being worked on is Monster Cast Down, the story Inhuman told from Celezar’s perspective! It will be the first story (but not the first linear story) in The Molt Series, which tells stories from Celezar’s perspective instead of Jean’s. I am working on MoCaDo for April Camp NaNo 2k23 and…while it isn’t going as fast as I want, I’m not giving up on it just yet. 😤 There’s plenty of time to catch up!

Synopses

Book two

Five years after the new millennium, Jean is still an inhuman hunter but with the added weight of being an inhuman, himself. He lives a dual life with his family and hunters on Isle Veni and his small family created with Celezar in Connecticut. As his fellow hunters have learned to work together and adapt, it is becoming harder to maintain his secrets. All the while, he learns of terrible truths that may be the catalyst he needs to break away from Lowell tradition.

He will learn who the real monsters are—those who dare to show what they are or those who hide behind the guise of saints.

Monster Cast Down

What was Celezar doing, thinking and feeling during the entirety of Inhuman? This story answers those questions…

It is a cool late Spring in the year of 2000 PT and the young inhuman hunter Celezar Yell makes a costly decision: forsaking his safety to save the man he loves. Doing so reveals his own inhumanity to the Lowell Hunters, those he called family for six years.

Hunted and hated for simply existing, he acknowledges his place in a world of humans, for he will always be seen as a monster. But that won’t stop him from trying his damnedest to keep Jean-Luc Lowell alive.

That’s what’s going on at the moment in the world of Dærth!

Thank you for reading!
